A focused Chrome extension for WhatsApp Web
Filter the contacts already available in WhatsApp Web, remove duplicates, and export a clean list to CSV, XLSX, or JSON.
Built for the step after a conversation
More precise than a group-only scraper
Most contact exporters stop at group members. WA Contacts Extractor gives you four ways to define the list before a file is created.
Build a list from the conversations already visible in WhatsApp Web, including saved and unsaved numbers.
Select one or more groups and export the contacts associated with those groups.
Turn WhatsApp Business labels into practical lists for follow-up, support, or CRM preparation.
Filter contacts by detected calling code and optionally combine the result with selected groups.
A usable export, not a number dump
Each result is normalized before download. Duplicate phone numbers are removed, country information is derived when possible, and optional message metadata stays attached to the matching contact.
Built around real contact workflows
A phone-number dump is rarely the final goal. The useful part is defining the right set, keeping enough context to understand it, and moving that set into an authorized business or administrative process. These are common ways people prepare an export.
Turn active customer conversations into a structured working list without retyping phone numbers one by one. Filter by a WhatsApp Business label, retain the source of each record, and move the result into a spreadsheet or an approved CRM process. The export is a preparation step: outreach should still follow consent, privacy, and messaging rules.
Create a clean list for ticket reconciliation, case ownership, or service reporting. The optional latest private-message fields can preserve useful context such as message time, read status, and direction, helping a support team identify conversations that may need attention without exporting a complete message history.
Select one or more groups, combine their visible members, and remove duplicate phone numbers before download. This is useful for legitimate membership administration, event coordination, or internal record maintenance when you are authorized to handle the data. WA Contacts Extractor does not send messages or automate invitations.
Organize existing candidate, vendor, partner, or professional conversations into a consistent file for internal review. Country calling codes and chat sources make the result easier to segment, while CSV, XLSX, and JSON provide practical starting points for the systems your organization already uses.
Know what goes into the file
Available columns depend on the source data and the options you select. Empty information is left empty rather than guessed, so you can review the result before using it elsewhere.
How to export WhatsApp contacts
Use your existing linked session. No WhatsApp password is requested by the extension.
Choose chats, groups, labels, or countries, then decide whether to include the latest private message.
Review the count and download the deduplicated result as CSV, XLSX, or JSON.
Not limited to group member lists
A basic WhatsApp group contact extractor can be enough when you only need visible member numbers from one group. WA Contacts Extractor is designed for a broader task: selecting contacts from different parts of WhatsApp Web, preserving useful context, and producing a file that needs less manual cleanup.
| Capability | WA Contacts Extractor | Basic group exporter |
|---|---|---|
| Contact sources | Chats, groups, labels, and countries | Usually groups only |
| Duplicate handling | Normalized and deduplicated before export | Often requires spreadsheet cleanup |
| Business context | WhatsApp Business labels when available | Not commonly included |
| Private-message context | Optional latest message and metadata | Usually phone numbers only |
| Export formats | CSV, XLSX, and JSON | Commonly CSV or XLSX |
| Automation | User-initiated export only | Varies by tool |
Privacy boundary
Contact records and optional message contents are processed locally for the export you request. They are not sent to ExtensionDesk.

Compatibility and troubleshooting
WA Contacts Extractor works inside the live WhatsApp Web interface, so the result depends on what that session has loaded and what your account can access. A lower count does not necessarily mean the visible list and the export disagree.
Visit the chat, group, label, or country panel you plan to use and wait for WhatsApp Web to finish loading. Recently opened records are more likely to be present in the current session.
The number shown in a group or filter can include the same person more than once across different sources. The final export removes repeated phone identifiers, so its unique-contact count may be smaller.
Hidden, deleted, inaccessible, or not-yet-loaded records cannot be reconstructed by the extension. Reload WhatsApp Web after a major interface update, then reopen the extractor and try the source again.
Questions people ask before exporting
WA Contacts Extractor is a Chrome extension that organizes contacts already available in your WhatsApp Web session and exports the selected result as CSV, XLSX, or JSON.
Yes. You can select groups, combine multiple selections, remove duplicate phone numbers, and export the resulting contact list.
It works with WhatsApp Web accounts. WhatsApp Business-specific filters, such as labels, appear when that information is available in the active web session.
No. Contact extraction and file generation run locally in your browser. Google account and subscription requests are separate and do not include exported contacts or message contents.
CSV is convenient for broad compatibility, XLSX opens cleanly in Excel, and JSON is useful for structured workflows and integrations.
No extension can recover data that WhatsApp Web has not made available to the current browser session. The extension exports matching contacts it can access in the active WhatsApp Web session; it does not recover deleted chats or unavailable history.
The Free plan exports up to 20 contacts per run. Pro raises the per-export limit to 5,000 contacts.
Yes. Select the groups you are authorized to use and the extension combines their available contacts into one result. Repeated phone numbers are removed before the file is created.
WhatsApp Web loads and exposes data progressively. A contact may be absent when the related chat, group, or member record is not available to the active browser session. Opening the relevant conversation or group and allowing WhatsApp Web to finish loading can make more current data available, but the extension cannot bypass platform access limits.
When enabled, it can add the latest private-message text, timestamp, direction, and read status associated with a contact. It does not export group-message content or a complete conversation history.
No. It creates a contact file only. It does not send bulk messages, start conversations, add people to groups, or contact anyone automatically.
Review the names, calling codes, source fields, consent basis, and any organization-specific requirements first. CSV is broadly compatible, XLSX is convenient for manual Excel review, and JSON is better suited to a controlled technical workflow.
